TYRICE JAMES
I believe life is an extraordinary gift—and that none of us travels through it alone.
I am the youngest of a beautifully imperfect, deeply loving family. My eldest sibling passed away as an infant, before I had the privilege of knowing them, yet I carry a part of their name and their place in my story. Through my parents, grandparents, siblings, extended family, lifelong friends, and the people who became family along the way, I learned early that we are shaped by the people who love us, challenge us, teach us, and walk beside us.
Life has given me the privilege—and sometimes the heartbreak—of witnessing the many realities of being human. I have experienced and observed people navigating chronic illness, loss, addiction, mental health challenges, family struggles, trauma, disability, divorce, sexual assault, incarceration, and countless other life transitions.
Those experiences didn't give me all the answers.
They gave me compassion, humility, curiosity, and understanding.
They taught me to listen to the story behind the person.
Music and the arts became another important part of my journey. Music moved me before I had the words to explain why. Over the years, I became both a performer and an appreciator of the arts, discovering how creativity can connect us, challenge us, and remind us that difference isn't something to fear—it is something to celebrate.
I celebrate and welcome diversity.
That belief naturally led me to hospitality, where I spent more than 20 years learning from and connecting with people from cultures, professions, backgrounds, and walks of life from around the world.
Hospitality became much more than a career. It became one of my greatest classrooms.
I had the opportunity to serve, lead, collaborate, coach, create, and build relationships across corporate, technology, financial, medical, healthcare, government, athletic, entertainment, educational, legal, religious, and leisure communities. Along the way, I held executive leadership roles in communications, talent acquisition, people and culture, operations, food and beverage, events, sales, marketing, and business development.
But the titles were never the most important part.
The people were.
Every experience reinforced something I have come to believe deeply: leadership isn't about being the person with all the answers. It is about listening. Showing up. Creating space for others. Knowing when to lead, when to follow, and when to simply walk beside someone.
And that brings me to where I am today.
My passion is supporting individuals create, collaborate, develop, discover, and move toward their purpose. I am continually learning from the remarkable people who have the courage to say yes to who they are becoming.
So, if you ask me, “About me?”
I am what has bravely and willingly come before me, and what I hope will remain gently, tenderly, and lovingly after me.
Everything in between is where I am found—
just like you....in life's transitions.
Gratitude for taking the time to get to know a little of my story.
I am honored and humbled by the opportunity to get to know yours.
